Biography

Who is Richard Perales?
I grew up in a military family.  My four brothers and I followed my father's footsteps and served in the United States military.  I retired from the USAF after serving as the Commander of the 788th CES Squadron at Wright Patterson AFB from 1994 -1996.  I accepted the position of Executive Director of Facilities Manager at the University of Dayton, and settled down in Beavercreek, Ohio.  My family and I decided on Beavercreek, in Greene County, Ohio, as our new home based on its location, amenities and the family-friendly atmosphere. Upon settling into the area, I decided to get involved in my community and applied for (and was appointed to) the Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA). Since that time, I've also been involved and/or currently participate on a number of local and regional boards and committees.  Please find these affiliations listed below. Subsequent to serving on the BZA, I ran for a seat on the Beavercreek City Council, and was pleased to receive the majority of votes which resulted in me serving as mayor. My two-year term as mayor ended on December 31, 2003, I served one year as a Council Member, before moving onto a County Commissioner position. I spent 2007 serving as the President of the Greene County Board of Commissioners.
